Genesis founder Peter Gabriel doesn't get nearly enough credit for being one of rock's more flamboyant characters. People know the Sledgehammer type videos and consider him a video age product. Oh, kids. Peter Gabriel was Elton John before there was an Elton John. He was the New York Dolls before they showed up on the scene. Crazy theatrical costumes, long often strange stories in between songs, he was quite an originator.
