Now we're sure there are some people who enjoy watching Cindy Crosby, we're not one of them. We'd rather watch the better players, the ones in Detroit. The ones who play for the franchise that didn't snivel and cry like babies over the way the old NHL was run.....like Pissburgh. Men of steel, yeah right
Again, Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, real popular since the 2005 draft.

Hmm, you lost me. Are you talking about Lemieux's lobbying for stricter "hanging on" rules to the NHL so that "scorer's" could do more scoring?
I'm talking about Pittsburgh's rush to socialized hockey. They were all for paying guys like Lemieux, Jagr, Kevin Stevens, Tom Barasso et al back in the early 90's then they made BAD financial decisions while teams like Detroit made SMART financial decisions. So Mario along with about 8 other owners (including that jackass Peter Karmanos who sure had 26 million in cash up front for Fedorov in 1998) ran crying to Gary Betteman screaming for a salary cap. Basically owners yelling "Save us from ourselves, we can't stop spending".
And we missed an entire year of playoffs because of Betteman and these 8 owners who couldn't run a REAL business (even while expousing capitalism) and dragged the rest of the league down until there was a Betteman work stoppage/lockout.
Certain teams could function just fine. Other teams and owners, mostly in the south, got all fat and happy on the franchise buy in money from places like Florida, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Nashville etc. They acted like that money spigot would never run dry. When it did they did the only thing they felt they could do, screw the rest of us over. Banks wanted actual MONEY from these teams if you can believe it. So, Betteman in order to save some of his socialist owners, capitulated so these billionaaires wouldn't lose their ill advised franchises.
Pittsburgh to THIS DAY takes revenue sharing checks from places like, DETROIT, we fund their failures.
This means you, Mario
