Emanuel will compete at the national Skills USA, after placing FIRST at the state competition, a competition of career and vocational skills in which Emanuel excelled at carpentry.
Now, the days in school you may remember in wood shop? Yeah, this is MUCH more specialized. Emanuel has been working thru Ypsi High at the Regional Career Technical Center, or RCTC. Besides the written portion of the exam, Emanuel topped 15-20 other competitors in rough framing, dry wall, steel-wall framing and roofing.
Emanuel expects to attend WCC this fall and get his builders license by the time he starts there.
Three Saline school students will also compete in the Skills USA competition;
Rob Law
Nick Schineman
James Jeffery
We wish all the competitiors the very best of luck and congratulate them on their top flight work thus far.
