Yesterday was baseball, today is EMU vs. U-M in softball

Eastern Michigan will travel over to Tree City this evening for a 6 pm game vs the #6 ranked Michigan women's softball team. EMU is 0-4 vs ranked opponenets this year but DO have a history of being able to pull the upset beating #21 Louisville in 2006 and #2 Florida State in 2004.

Michigan has a phenomenal lineup with 5 hitters with better than a .300 average and top flight pitching with the tandem of Jordan Taylor (20-2, 0.51 ERA) and Nikki Nemitz (18-2, 0.75 ERA). Pick your poison. Offensively Eastern is led by Jenny Scherer with 7 home runs and a cool .315 average, alongside Ashley Strauss, Heather Giroux, and Stacie Skodinski.

Eastern will have to play a near perfect game to win but then again, that's what they said about the 1980 US Olympic hockey team vs Russia.

EMU returns home this weekend for THREE big games on Friday vs Akron at 1pm, Saturday at 2pm vs Ohio and then again Sunday at 1 pm vs Ohio.
