Attention you teenage hoodlums, nere-do-wells and slackers, your days in Ypsilanti are numbered

The City of Ypsilanti is looking to pass a truancy ordinance (we didn't already have one? Why the hell not?) to ensure kids under 16 are in school from 9-3:30 each school day or they and their parents would have a not-so-fun-day-in-court. Are you FOR this ordinance? Are you AGAINST this ordinance? Make your voice heard, April 15th 7:30 at City Hall.

Ya know who hated truants? This guy

you mean there needs to be an ordinance for kids to go to school???
the parents need to be arrested by the education police if they are STUPID enough not to know that the kids are supposed to go everyday...

Apparently, there does need to be an ordinance. I guess they are merely trying to make sure the Ypsilanti ordinance matches the Ypsi Township ordinance but yes, some people must be told.

Luckily, they had the foresight to exempt home school kids from said ordinance

Doesn't the school know a when students aren't in class, I think thats where enforcement should begin. Law or no law.
