A Michigan State Police trooper was chasing a suspect this afternoon on M-14 at speeds that approached 100 mph. The chase wound up in the Plymouth Road area when the trooper felt it was just too dangerous to keep after the suspect vehicle.
Well done.
It can't be easy for the trooper to make this decision. They WANT to catch the bad guy and somebody running from the cops at 100 mph is a bad guy. They want him off the street and so do we citizens. We also respect very much an officer with the judgement to call it all off on OUR behalf.
Ann Arbor and State Police are continuing to search around Pontiac Trail and Barton Drive.
