Sure, We Love to Poke Fun at Ann Arbor ... But This Is Too Cool Not To Share

One of the things that's always frustrated me about Ypsilanti is that it tends to see itself more in terms of how it relates to Ann Arbor than how it stands as its own, proud city. Honestly, is there another town that suffers as much of an inferiority complex as Ypsi does vis-a-vis it's big brother to the west?

Wait ... what was my point? It doesn't matter.

Wystan Stevens is Ann Arbor's unofficial historian and is a wealth of knowledge about anything and everything having to do with Washtenaw County's past. Check out his Flickr photos, which, if nothing else, show that student binge drinking has changed little over the past century or so.

I thought that Ypsilanti stood on its own when it was noted to be one of Michigan's "COOL" and upcoming cities??
AA only has the OLD standby's to distinguish them..

Ypsi stood on it's own when it helped win World War II with the Willow Run munitions factory and airport. Ypsilanti's dirty hands, broad shoulders and brave men and women made it possible for Ann Arbor to become the liberal weed puffing hackey sack playing People's Republic it is today.

But those are pretty cool pictures nonetheless

Good points all around. I certainly didn't mean to suggest that Ypsi *should* have an inferiority complex. Simply that, in my mind, anyways, it does. Now piss off, both of you!
