... but it's also the 82nd anniversary of Harry Houdini's death in Detroit. Here's some footage that I never knew existed of Houdini's funeral in New York City. Keep in mind that Houdini was arguably the most-popular performer in the world at the time, hence the massive crowd that turned out to see his coffin -- perhaps the one enclosure from which he couldn't escape.
