Ypsilanti Township's getting some shiny new fire engines

The Ypsilanti Township Board of Trustees said A-OK in buying three new fire engines at a cost of $750,000. Township Fire Chief Larry Morabito said the trucks were badly needed as the old ones they are replacing are 18 years old. Replacement parts were also becoming hard to find.

Look times are tight everywhere, and nobody knows this better than the residents of Southeast Michigan. BUT, for the safety of the community, and the fact the prices on these things will not most likely fall in the next few years, sometimes you HAVE to make hard decisions on infrastructure. YCD guarantees that anybody who has their homes or offices saved by one of these new trucks will find the money well spent indeed.

A smart but tough call by Ypsi Township on this we think.
