Some EMU football recruiting news and one player in particular we're interested in

Jeff Genyk's EMU football squad has added a few players from yesterday's big recruiting haul. YCD would like to welcome local standout Marvon Sanders from Ypsilanti High School (Marvon, the crowds were bigger at Shadford, see what you can't do to change this) who will play wide receiver. YCD would like to send out a special HEY-YO to linebacker in training Josh Williams, from the storied (ha) Ortonville Brandon High School program.

Welcome to Ypsilanti Josh, from a fellow Blackhawk.

Thanks Johnny for remembering
Ortonville Brandon since we seem
to fall between the Detroit/Flint
crack! Josh Williams can't wait
to get to EMU!

What? Ortonville and the sports machine that is Brandon High School fall between the cracks? NEVER! Johnny sweated his ass off for the blue and the white back in his time (when the world was in black and white and we routinely had to chase dinosaurs off the practice field). I remember we ganked up a perfect season Byron had going for them. Ha ha Byron. We even got to go down to Ohio to play a game. True story. We left good old BHS early that Friday morning, got down to the school (about a four hour drive), changed into sweats and jerseys for our walk through on their field and it was at THAT point, when we started pointing up at the flagpole did our coaches tell us "Uh, yeah, the team your playing tonight has won their state championship the last two years running"

Tell Josh we can't wait to have him here in Ypsilanti. He'll be the biggest Brandon star in Washtenaw County since Matt Lentz at Michigan.

Go Hawks!
