OK, for one minute pretend this is the Rothbury City Desk

Rolling Stone's Daily Rock and Roll News tidbits tell us of THIS AMAZING concert on Michigan's west side over the July 4th weekend. Johnny's in-laws live like 3 miles from this so he's got a place to crash, and you'd better get working on one too, Rothbury is no Ypsilanti when it comes to rooms to let.

New Rothbury Festival to Hit U.S. in July: Matthews, Mayer, Snoop, Modest Mouse

2/13/08, 6:00 am EST

A new, environmentally conscious music festival is about to hit the ever-growing U.S. market July 4th weekend: AEG Live (the folks behind Coachella) and Madison House Presents are introducing the Rothbury Festival, to be held in Rothbury, Michigan on July 3rd through 6th at the idyllic Double JJ Ranch near Lake Michigan. Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Widespread Panic, Phil Lesh & Friends, Modest Mouse, 311 and Snoop Dogg are among the many confirmed acts, and organizers say the festival’s goal is to draw attention to climate change and clean energy alternatives. To wit, the weekend will feature a think tank featuring panel discussions on those climate concerns, an energy fair where attendees can get their hands on related technology and products, and the festivals’ campgrounds will strive for a zero-waste experience via composting, carbon-offsetting and more strategies (alternative lodging will also be available for festival-goers who don’t want to pitch a tent). For the initial lineup announcement — the fest promises more than seventy bands on eight stages — keep reading. The first batch of tickets go on sale February 27th at the fest’s official site.

If you don't care for the musical stylings of Snoop Dogg there is a Polka Festival in Cedar, MI in beautiful Leelanau County over that weekend, too.

What's the Blunt situation at the polka festival?

See I think that when somebody's in Snoop's crowd mentions a blunt in Rothbury, someone there will tell them not to worry, they have sharpener in the garage.

The polka fest is crawling with college kids so I don't think he'd have a problem.

Wait a minute, what the hell was I thinking? I hate driving up there on holiday weekends to begin with. Interestingly enough, people DO head to Lake Michigan on big weekends. US 31 is two lanes just like US 23, you're talking tens of thousands of kids all getting off at the Rothbury exit (which is one up from my in-laws, Fruitvale Rd) and a small town like that, traffic will back up for counties. No WAY am I doing that. The road by my in laws will be a route to this show. I know fo shizzle my father in law doesn't own a Snoop CD nor a DMB album.

"US 31 is two lanes"
the powers that be have it under control, they will be using 3 exits and expect to admit up to 1000 cars an hour"

Hey I'm like 15 & Blonde, and I love guitar and John Mayer , he's so sweet looking.
Also...I just had to tell everyone that!! I went to a rock show and saw GW Williams . He is the greatest guitarist I have ever seen.
Now I am confused I think maybe I have a crush on GW Williams instead of John Mayer.
Tuesday evening,I attended the GW Williams,Rock & Blues guitar concert in Hollywood California .
And GW Williams played Guitar AWESOMELY..... his Rock, Blues guitar style made me fall in love with him ,along with his Elvis like singing voice.
If you want to see his concerts, If found this info, and I'll post it below.

Hello,

The comments posted about GW Williams are part of a viral marketing campaign. This person has a home-made recording on Amazon.com . You can listen to samples and see why it's clear that they had to resort to this sort of thing.
Reference to Eric Clapton, John Mayer or other prominent non-fictional guitarists seem to be drawing him in.
Please feel free to delete this entry along with his.
This seems like a nice place. It's too bad he's decided to invade it.
We've been doing battle with him and his multiple personalities on Topix. There are several indications in his posts and IP addresses that point to him being incarcerated quite possibly at Folsom prison near Sacramento.

Again, I apologize for barging in. Please feel free to block me and this other person as well
