Late night open thread

Tomorrow is February 29th as we've mentioned here, Leap Day. In keeping with the sprit of a day coming once every four years, the very good people at Domino's Pizza have a special offer for parents to be (and soon). If you have a baby on Friday, Domino's will PAY YOU $1000 in PIZZA COUPONS, to NAME your baby Brooklyn, after their 'Brooklyn Style Pizza'. That's right, just name your child after a marketing gimmick and Domino's will pay you the one grand in magic bea---er pizza coupons.

Jenny Fouracre, a spokesweasel for Domino's Pizza actually uttered these here words:

"We think they are very special and deserve a memorable birthday with a good story about how they were named.''

#1 They already have a memorable birthday, hell we ALL do

#2 This is not a good story as to how they were named. It is a sick and sad story.

#3 If you name your newborn child after a pizza slogan, isn't that where the government steps in and puts you to sleep?

Time for Ypsilanti, After Dark

As a baby name, "Brooklyn" suggests mom and dad are dumb white yuppies, not pizza fans.

Me, I'd take the pizza and eat it, and tell the kid we really wanted to name her Staten Island.

If you haven't seen it, the Baby Name Wizard is pretty fun to play with, especially over decades.

It turns out that "Unique" is a lot more common, as a name, than it used to be....

My baby sister was born in 1972. M&D wanted to name her 'Libby' but 1972 was the height of the 'Libby's Libby's Libby's' advertising campaign. They elected to go with another name. No free canned goods for baby sis!!! They had no crystal ball to know that Libby's would fade from the canned goods spotlight but I still believe they made the right call.

Just as well Trixie--With Scooter Libby Libby Libby's legal difficulties who knows when it'll come back.
