Rich Rodriguez 'agrees' to pay the 4 million owed to West Virginia

Huh, isn't it funny how quickly these things work themselves out when University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman was staring down a subpoena from West Virginia and was threatened with getting dragged into this case? Yep, Michigan football coach Rich Rod has "agreed" to pay back the 4 million he owed after jumping ship to Ann Arbor in December.

Rich Rodriguez SURE has made an impact since being named coach hasn't he?

One nagging question YCD has, did U-M agree to cover Rodriguez's 4 million in ANY way shape or form? THAT would be a heinous waste of University of Michigan monies.

"Rodriguez is expected to pay $1.5 million spread over three years, beginning in 2010. U-M is expected to pay the balance of the sum, $2.5 million, immediately and cover Rodriguez’s legal fees later, two people with knowledge of the agreement told the Free Press this morning."

Thanks anonymous. That's COMPLETE and UTTER bullshit.

Where will this money come from? Has Dean Vernon Wormer worked out an honorarium from the 'student fund'?

This had BETTER come right out of the athletic department budget.

It looks real good to raise tuition on students 5% while paying 2.5 million for coach lawsuit doesn't it?
