Wasn't there a Mayflower in downtown Plymouth?
Yes, there was or is but I don't think this was it. The site I found the image on said this particular one was in Ypsi
Michigan Ave and Carpenter Rd. In Pittsfield Twp. I used to eat breakfast there back in the day. Then it pretty much became a haven for drug addicts and hookers. Pittsfield had it burned down years ago, only after a lengthy court battle. Apparently nobody wanted to claim ownership of the dive.
I went to Univ of Michigan a few years back and we had our pledge class lock-in at this dirt hole. Needless to say we caused a bit of trouble, but when the cops showed up they said and this is a direct quote as best I can remember it "The only thing that goes on in this place is drugs and hookers, and it doesn't look like you boys are into either" We never were sure what they meant by this, but I guess they figured we were not going to be disturbing the other guests and they left us alone.
Anyone eat at the motel in a place called the Owl diner. Tell me about it for research? Nice, about 1952-60??
