Simple question--Who's got the best pizza in town?
We wanted to throw this open to the public today and see who around town has the tastiest pizza pies. We're not handing out any kind of award, we just wondered if some of the newer pizza houses were as good as the established Ypsi/Arbor pizza places...

Don't know about your town, but wherever one lives it's worth the trip to go to Anthony's. It's much closer than Chicago and better than Gino's anyway.
Don't toy with us, where can we find Anthony's?
Red Rooster - Rawsonville/Willis Rd. "The Rooster" is the best pizza I've had in a while.

Now that they've come to Perrin Street, Ypsilanti became that much cooler.

If I'm in the mood a pesto pizza from Cottage Inn hits the spot. I used to adore Red Rooster pizza, I just don't call there anymore for whatever reason. Maybe I don't get their coupons. Aubreees is very good pizza too
I gotta try some of these newer places like NYPD, if this is the same one as in Ann Arbor, those are great slices....
NYPD is about as NY as my dead grandmother (buried in Ferndale, WA), but I like it.
Anthony's is by the sad little Kroger on Packard and I just saw online they have another location on Maple. I used to get it once in a while when I used to live in that neighborhood. The wait is about an hour and will set you back some coin but it's pretty damn good.

I think another key is sauce, I hate mine slathered on as the dominant ingredient. I like it slightly spicy and just a thin covering.

I believe the Anthony's by Georgetown is either closing or has closed.
They have recently opened two locations, one at (I think) 621 S. Main, which is making me guess it's the Main Street Market. The other is at The Miller/ Maple strip mall, both in Ann Arbor.
If you don't like a lot of sauce don't get Chicago style stuffed. Try the super thin crust. I don't think it's on the menu, but you can request it.
And yes, it is expensive. It is the only indulgence we can afford these days... It's just so good, it's worth skipping other treats for a week. But that is saying more about our income level than the price, it's not like they are going to need a credit check on you or something. And compared to that awful Pizza House they come in pretty close.
