The Friday morning 'Your brush with celebrity' open thread

Ever meet anybody famous? Do you KNOW anybody famous? Tell us your brush with celebrity. Johnny was talking with an online cohort yesterday who got REAL up close and personal with the Go Go's Jane Wiedlin back in the day.

C'mon, you can tell us, be anonymous if you have to

I volunteered for the Superbowl halftime show and got go chat briefly with some of the musicians playing with them (Chuck L., Darryl Jones, etc.). Keith Richard's long time guitar tech is a celebrity in some circles, and he was very, very cool. I got a guitar pick and some great memories.

Big celebrities if you are a Rolling Stones fan. I doubt others think it is too cool, but that couple of weeks was one of the highlights of my life.

I don't think that's weak at all. For someone who LOVES the Stones, that's awesome!

I've met a few in my day, Bill Clinton (when he was President) outside Abe's Coney Island, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, I met Florence Henderson when I was young and for such a Brady Bunch fan that was cool too. Had the awesome pleasure of meeting Neko Case last April in Cleveland. Such a wonderful person. Her signature adorns the tour poster I had framed (FYI, she gets awesome tour posters made).

I was in the elevator in a hotel in Chicago with Jason Lee of Mallrats and My Name is Earl fame.

I also saw several political/media celebrities in the two years I lived in DC. I stood next to Wesley Clark while waiting to cross the street. I shared a flight with Andrew Sullivan, a writer for The Atlantic and former editor of The New Republic.

I shared an elevator with Vince Vaughn when I was on business in Chicago one time and an airport tram car with Andre 3000 from Outkast when I was in Atlanta once.

I also waited on Emmylou Harris when I worked at a bookstore in Traverse City - she was in town to perform at Interlochen. I didn't recognize her as she had her hair covered with a scarf - didn't realize who she was until I saw her name on her credit card. Then I gulped.

jimmycav-I right like Andrew Sullivan, a true compassionate conservative. One of the first from the right side of the aisle and call bullshit on Bush's policies and the war
