Radioactive man, the brick thief, now in custody

The guy who stole 5,000 pounds of bricks used to contain radiation in tests, has been caught and is housed in the Washtenaw County clink. Radioactive man was captured by police when he tried to sell the blue colored bricks to a scrap yard in Inkster.

The far more frightening aspect of this case is that the perp is a 43 year old Toledo, Ohio man. This means radioactive zombies are wandering Ohio and coming here to commit crimes.

You just can't trust Ohio radioactive zombies like you used to. Some even have high falutin TeeVee jobs where they harass furries with their radioactive hands...

Ypsilanti Township fireworks are ON for tonight

The washed out fireworks show in Ypsilanti Township are on for tonight, Thursday. Same bat time, same bat channel. It'll be clear as a bell tonight and perhaps even a little chilly. It should be around 60ยบ with a slight northeast wind when the shells start bursting over majestic Ford Lake.

An ark was seen floating by the Ypsi City Desk offices tonight. Looked like a monkey was driving.

Hang on to your ass Huron Valley, here we go.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 11

To quote the Stooges, "No Fun at All"

Do you eat food? Good, then this story from the A2 News is for you

An update from our friends at the Ann Arbor News on the recent eColi meat found in certain Kroger stores:

The Kroger Co. has expanded its voluntary recall of some ground beef products beyond stores in Michigan and parts of Ohio.

Meat obtained from one of its suppliers, Omaha-based Nebraska Beef Ltd., has been linked to illness caused by the E. coli bacteria in Michigan and Ohio between May 31 and June 8.

Update on the police presence yesterday near Banfields

We're now told that there were some asshats smashing storefront windows in that strip mall.

That is all...

EMU Head baseball coach Jake Boss is now the former EMU baseball coach

Jake is off to bigger (not better) things as he has been named top man at Michigan State. This is not surprising, Jake Boss is one helluva good baseball coach. It should validate his hiring by EMU Athletic Director Dr. Derrick Gragg. He was indeed the right man to take over for the disgraced Roger Coryell.

Boss ended his single season at Eastern Michigan with an overall record of 25-34, 15-8 in the MAC West. Boss led EMU to both the regular season and tournament titles.

We wish him well and it's too bad his stay in Ypsilanti couldn't have been longer. Boss will be announced at MSU head man in a presser this morning in East Lansing.

Chris Hoiles, you're up.....

Our 2¢ on the Sheriff vs the Commission on citizen oversight

The Ypsi City Desk firmly believes that they should NEVER EVER have to read this:

"Minzey responded by creating his own advisory board"

In NO way shape or form should the Sheriff be creating his own hand crafted oversight board. The stakes for citizens is far too high. If Sheriff Minzey thinks he only answers to citizens on election day, Washtenaw County could use a new Sheriff.

So uh, what's going on outside Banfield's this morning?

HEAVY police presence in the Banfield's Bar area this morning? Anybody heard anything?
