Sadly, The Four Tops front man Levi Stubbs passed today. His powerful, strong and heartfelt voice was always a draw to their brilliant music. He made every song he sang better. He brought something to songs that not every singer can. A sense of urgency, a sense of 'you'd better be listening as THIS is important', as sense of ownership of the song. So many songs by the Four Tops are such staples of American music.
Here are The Four Tops with 'Reach Out, I'll be There'. Godspeed Levi, you leave here having made people happy.

Friday night MULTIMEDIA EXTRAVAGANZA WITH THE FOUR TOPS!
Johnny will be damned if Kwame Kilpatrick is gonna ruin his impression of a city he loves. How about a little something SO RIGHT about Detroit. Here are 'The Four Tops' with one of the bestest songs ever, 'Standing in the Shadows of Love' and a plea to remember this part of Detroit. Holland-Dozier-Holland will always be a greater representation of Detroit than a spoiled child mayor.
