On this day in 1936 in Berlin basketball debuted as an Olympic sport. In the inaugural game the United States defeated Canada 19-8. 4 of Canada's points were by a beaver. India and Mongolia have more medals than Canada right now. That's made frontrunner Brian Williams on CBC all the more scarce. As Martha Stewart would say "That's a good thing".
