The speed limit on Golfside between Ellsworth and Huron River Drive just went WAY up

The Pittsfield Ministy of Ticket money will be greatly saddened by the fact the speed limit on Golfside between Ellsworth and Washtenaw Avenue went up from 25 mph to 40 mph and from Washtenaw to Huron River Drive from 35 to 45.

Long have the Pittsfield Township po-po doled out ticket after ticket after ticket along this stretch of road. Chances are they'll be angry over this (have you EVER seen or met a police department who want to give back ANYTHING to the people?) so make sure you're not going so much as 1 mph over for now.

Halleujah, the speed traps on Golfside are no more. Thank you Washtenaw County Road Commission.

We want names and we want them NOW

This is not going to stand. If you have the names of the asshats who spray painted racial insults and slurs on an Obama billboard in Pittsfield Township near where Textile dead ends into US-23, your help is needed.

Obviously these wastes of human skin didn't realize the kind of heat they'd be bringing as the FBI and Secret Service are investigating. Police are also using tracking dogs at the scene. Michigan State Police were able to get tire tracks.

Give us their names, we'll turn them in. If Johnny will stand up to a mob in Cleveland Browns Stadium over utter crap like this you better believe he'll take action now.

State Road in Pittsfield Township to close for a couple months near the NEW Wal-Mart

Yep, State Road between Old State Road and US-12 in September and October, will be closed to through traffic to make improvements on the roadway for the new Wal-Mart which will open at State Road and Michigan Avenue.

You get inconvenienced, and Wal-Mart makes the profit. It's how America works now. Your local governments are subsidiaries of huge corporations and will bend over backwards to give them what they want to 9 times out of 10. Before you start the 'but they bring jobs' lecture, yeah, they lock people in their stores, have been sued and shown to force workers to work for free, and since they won't give the employees insurance or full 40 hour a week jobs in most cases they ALSO teach them how to apply for state assistance. Yep, Wal-Mart teaches employees exactly where to go and what to fill out to get state assistance. NICE.

Think on that while you find a different route out that way this fall.

(Updated 2:50 pm) Pittsfield Township police investigating possible homicide in Glencoe Hills

A possible homicide is being investigated by Pittsfield Township Police along with the Michigan State Police. Police have cordoned off sections of the 2100 block of Glencoe Hills Drive

As usual, police say it's early but there APPEARS to be no immediate danger to residents there.


UPDATE: The resident's address was 2133 and the person who was killed was a victim of a stabbing. Police say the victim's name and age have not yet been determined.

Ann Arbor area business parks can sleep easier, the Heckle and Jeckle of crime arrested!

Two brothers, whom police say have a long storied history of burglary from office and office parks around town, have been arrested and night watchmen everywhere can breathe a sigh of relief.

Leonard Alan Vogel, 47, and Carl Vogel, 48, were arraigned Tuesday at the Washtenaw County Jail on multiple felony charges on the types of crimes you'd think they'd be involed in, breaking and entering, conspiracy and now, fleeing and eluding police.

Leonard Vogel, has been arrested seven times now (get your card punched Leonard, three more and you get a free latte).

Pittsfield Township Police said they saw a van matching the description of one used in previous break ins near Ellsworth and State St and attempted to pull it over but the Vogels, well being Vogels, took off and were later arrested after a short chase. Police found boxes of computers inside the vehicle.

Because right now he's gonna have to work off the DUI, leaving the scene of an injury accident, and whtever else they can think of to add and THEN ship his dumb, irresponsible ass back to Mexico.

Pittsfield Township police said an illegal alien with a long history of driving violations, including two prior drunken driving offenses, was arrested after fleeing the scene of a car crash that sent three people to a local hospital Sunday night.

The suspect, a 25-year-old Mexican national, has a driving record that dates back to 2002 in Michigan, even though he is apparently in the United States illegally, police said.

First off, all three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries thank god. The idiot himself took off, another motorist reported his smoking husk of a vehicle, and police caught up to it in an apartment complex where they found Mr. Brains trying to hide under another parked car, bleeding from the mouth, and in bad need of new underwear.

Stick him jail, and since Johnny thinks only legal residents (not just citizens but legal resident too) should get time off for good behavior, let him rot, then when he gets out drop him back across the border with a tracking ankle bracelet he can't take off so we can keep an eye on him electronicaly like a bear or walrus on a nature show.

Now we need to brace you, what you're about to see is shocking. A bank was robbed in Pittsfield Township today, around 4pm. The TCF Bank on Carpenter was his target and he handed the teller a note that said he had a weapon. The suspect (we're getting to that) fled on foot to the Lowe's parking lot across the street where police suspect he entered an unknown vehicle.

The robber was described as a white man, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall with an average build. He was wearing black clothing, gloves and sunglasses.

Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor Fire Departments to merge services?

With budget cuts aplenty, and a moribund economy, Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor fire departments have begun discussion on a merger of kinds. The plan would allow the 'two cities to cooperate on fire inspections, new-building plan reviews, fire prevention and a host of other duties that are duplicated from one municipality to the other.' They would still remain independent on budget and benefit issues, however.

Both Ann Arbor Fire Chief Sam Hopkins and Ypsilanti Fire Chief Jon Ichesco are behind the plan which would allow the two cities to buy less trucks, equipment, and insurance ratings. The tenative plan would call for one fire marshall to carry out inspections in both cities. There are also discussions to include Ypsilanti Township and Pittsfield Township to the plan.

Working together, saving money, helping citizens? Fantabulous guys. THIS is the kind of forward thinking YCD likes to see.

There is a BRAND NEW IHOP (International House of Pancakes found only in America) that opened last week near the corner of Carpenter and Ellsworth in Pittsfield Township. It's owned by Kal Farah and his family, who also own the IHOP in Livonia.

Farah also said IHOP will offer curbside carryout service and is considering expanding its hours to 24 hours a day on weekends in 2008.

It seats 185 and has been very busy so get in there Washtenaw County and get your breakfast eat on.

It's 4am, you're wearing a bandana and armed with a broom, why not use said broomstick to let yourself into the McDonalds we've ALL eaten at on Washtenaw while the crew looks on. You ask for money, and might I add what BETTER time to demand money than before they open for busines to collect, um, money. Told they have none and no access to the safe at, again, 4am, you run out. We're guessing the way you came in, broomlord, and flee into the morning air.

Yes Virginia, there is a Dog Park

It's official, no more letting your dogs go in your neighbors yard where students pass out. Ann Arbor, ironically the City of Trees, gets a dog park over to the dump, um, landfill. The Swift Run Dog park has been signed off on and should be ready for dogs and their well trained owners in November. Another attraction of the dog park will be the ability to see all the way to scenic Pittsfield Township on a clear day.

Johnny does not have a dog.



Luckily he has the Ypsi City Desk, but it would also explain his fear of falling down a well.
