Sunday morning newsiness

*Michigan defeated Nebraska-Omaha last night at Yost Ice Arena 2-1 thus advancing to the Final Four of the CCHA at Joe Louis Arena next weekend.

*If you've recently quit your diet or you carry around several extra thousand pounds in your vehicle you'll need to know the bridge weight limit on the Stadium Boulevard Bridge over State Street has been LOWERED yet again this year:
* For single unit trucks, such as a school bus or moving van, 19 tons.
* For two-unit trucks, such as a semi with one trailer, 24 tons.
* For three-unit trucks, such as a semi with two trailers, 26 tons.
Be ye warned!

*Tiffany Ofili, a former standout at Ypsilanti High School won the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships for the University of Michigan where she is a junior. She ran a 7.94 for the finals.

*Michigan lawmakers, along with Governor Granholm are all aligning AGAINST the citizen initiative to legalize marijuana for medical purposes while according to a non-scientific poll on MLive 88% of Michigan voters SUPPORT it. Why is it the citizenry is always ahead of our so called thinkers and doers in government? Oh it's going to be on the ballot which YCD thinks is part of the rub. Legislators hate, they hate citizen initiatives. How dare they have a say in their own lives.
